Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning For Ice

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across Northern Ireland.

The warning has been put in place from 4pm on Friday, 13 January, until noon on Saturday, 14 January.

Motorists are being urged to expect difficult driving conditions on untreated roads.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces especially where showers of sleet, snow and hail occur. 2 to 4cm of snow may affect low lying areas of Scotland, with 5 to 10cm over higher ground. Elsewhere, 1 to 2cm is locally possible. This may lead to the risk of disruption with difficult driving conditions and expect longer journey times."
