Heron Brothers To Build Three New Leisure Centres In Belfast
Contractors Heron Brothers have been appointed to develop three new leisure centres in Belfast.
The new developments will replace the existing buildings at Andersonstown Leisure Centre, the Robinson Centre and Brook Activity Centre.
The new centres are part of Belfast City Council's £105million Leisure Transformation Programme.
Preparatory works are already underway at the Robinson Centre, with building also scheduled to start this summer at Andersonstown and Brook.
All three new centres are due for completion by summer 2019.
Heron Brothers will also be required to deliver the contract in such a way so as to maximise the social, economic and environmental benefits for Belfast and its people through training and employment opportunities and, where practical, using local suppliers for goods and services.
Each centre will have a range of associated facilities including fitness suites and exercise studios.
