AMDC introduce the "Hot Desk" Satellite Working Service

The Armagh Monaghan Digital Corridor (AMDC) has introduced an innovative "Hot Desk" Satellite Working Service that has the potential to change how businesses operate.

The Satellite Working Service enables an employee to locate to the Armagh or Monaghan region, whilst continuing to work for their city-based employer.

AMDC is a cross-border business corridor linked through the business centres

a:tek and m:tek, located in Armagh and Monaghan respectively.

In addition to offering assistive business amenities to both start-up and established companies, AMDC provide the infrastructure and facilities to "Hot Desk" users that allow the employee to remain completely connected to the company base via contemporary amenities and a high-tech ergonomic workstation.

The centres provide some of the most advanced accommodation designed for

technology businesses in Ireland and are now to be linked through

state-of-the-art communications systems.

The contemporary and progressive amenities provide employers and employees with a credible opportunity to move away from urban centres, traditionally associated with high costs and infrastructure problems. Recent companies to locate to the AMDC facilities include e-blana, Answer Call Direct and Datacare.

According to AMDC's business development manager Bernard Conlon there are extensive benefits employers and employees alike in using the AMDC "Hot

Desk" service; "Satellite Working allows employees to avail of significant

cost benefits while allowing employees to continue working without incurring the cost of locating near a city based office."

Both centres provide attractive bases for start up and existing high-tech

companies keen to improve their working environments and to have access to

the best telecommunications systems available in Ireland.

The service is already drawing interest from city-based multinationals and the public sector who are keen to explore operational benefits and boost employee satisfaction and productivity.
