Two-Minute Silence Marks Armistice Day
A two-minute silence has been observed across the UK to mark Armistice Day and commemorate the end of the first world war on this day in 1918.
The occasion was marked across NI at 11am to remember servicemen and women who died in battle.
Wreath-laying ceremonies have also taken place at war memorials across the province.

BELFAST BAR FINED IN VODKA SUBSTITUTION CASE
THE Garrick Bar in Chichester Street, Belfast, has been fined £3,000 plus costs, following charges brought by the Trading Standards Service, under the Trade Marks Act 1994. The charges were in relation to the substitution of Smirnoff vodka with another brand of vodka.

Education Minister Cuts First Sod On New Downpatrick High School
Education Minister Michelle McIlveen has cut the first sod on a major project to provide a new school building for Down High School in Downpatrick. The sod-cutting marks the start of construction on the new school with an investment of almost £33million by the Department of Education.

Northern Ireland hosts Holocaust Memorial Day
Northern Ireland is hosting the fourth UK Holocaust Memorial Day and hundreds of people are expected to attend the commemoration. In recognition that 2004 marks the 10th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda, the theme will focus on ‘From the Holocaust to Rwanda: lessons learned, lessons still to learn’.

The PSNI and partners held an "holistic day of action" on Monday, 16 October to mark the start of Anti-Slavery Week. The first phase of the day saw Organised Crime Branch, with the support of district officers and partner organisations tackle the very real issue of modern slavery and human trafficking.
