SF launch Belfast election campaign
Sinn Féin President, Gerry Adams launched his party's Belfast Election Campaign today saying they were intent in securing eight MLA's in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Mr Adams, who was accompanied by the party’s Belfast candidates as well as the party's Chief Negotiator, Martin McGuinness, said he was confident of making gains in the city.
Speaking at the Waterfront Hall, the West Belfast MP said: “Much has changed in Belfast over the past 20 years, since Alex Maskey became the first Sinn Féin Councillor in this city.
"Since then Sinn Féin has become the largest political party in Belfast and our track record is there for everyone to see. We delivered in our communities, in City Hall, in the Assembly and in the peace process."
The Sinn Féin's candidates in Belfast for the November 26 elections are:

The Police Ombudsman office has confirmed that it is to investigate the use of plastic baton rounds fired as police attempted to deal with violent disturbances between rival factions in east Belfast. Serious rioting broke out in east Belfast on Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight.

DUP and Sinn Fein leading in Assembly Elections
UPDATE: The Democratic Unionist Party and Sinn Fein hold the majority of seats in the Northern Ireland Assembly Election. The DUP and Sinn Fein emerged considerably ahead of the other parties with main losers the UUP dropping 9 seats to retain just 18 seats.
