Plans Announced To Improve Junctions On A26

The Department of Infrastructure has announced plans to improve a number of junctions on the A26 between Antrim and Ballymena.

Alliance MLA David Ford questioned Minister Chris Hazzard in the Assembly and highlighted concerns about road safety in Tannaghmore and Creavery.

Mr Ford said: "I am pleased the Minister has recognised that these are problems for drivers leaving the Creavery Road or tuning right into Creavery Road, as the sight lines are poor. I await with interest the Department's proposals to improve safety for both local people and others travelling along the A26.

"The Minister also acknowledged a small number of collisions in recent years in Tannaghmore. The 'left-then-right' turn across the dual carriageway for anyone going between Kells and Randalstown has become increasingly difficult as traffic has increased in recent years."
