Concerns Raised Over UTV Job Losses
Over 40 jobs are at risk at broadcaster UTV.
ITV bought the firm last year and around a quarter of the jobs are under threat.
Sinn Féin MLA Máirtín Ó Muilleor said: "The news that over 40 jobs in UTV are at risk is a blow to the local economy and indeed the independence of the local media sector.
"UTV has been at the heart of south Belfast for decades. A reduction of 25% of the current workforce will undoubtedly put a strain on output and the staff who remain.
"ITV should recognise this and offer more opportunities for realising and retraining for those staff at risk."
