James Brokenshire To Address Conservative Party Conference

Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire is to address a Conservative Party conference in Birmingham later on today, 04 October.

He is expected to say that Northern Ireland will make a success of Brexit and also talk about the border with the Rupublic of Ireland (RoI).

Mr Brokenshire is expected to say: "Building a Northern Ireland that works for everyone also means making a success of the UK's democratic decision to leave the European Union. And I am in no doubt that Northern Ireland can and will.

"We will work to ensure that Northern Ireland's unique interests are protected and advanced. That's particularly the case when it comes to the land border with the Republic of Ireland and the Common Travel Area which has served the UK and Ireland well for many decades."
