Money Stolen During Distraction Burglary In Co Antrim

An elderly woman has had a sum of money stolen during a distraction burglary in Ballycastle, Co Antrim.

The incident occurred at a property on Atlantic Avenue on Tuesday, 27 September.

A man claiming to be from a utility firm called at the house at around midday.

He asked the woman if her could check her cabling at the back of her property.

She took him to the rear of the house and the man left abruptly.

The woman went back into her house and discovered a sum of money had been taken.

Police are advising the public to treat any stranger who calls to their door with caution.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

County Tyrone Woman Robbed In 'Distraction' Burglary
Police in Co Tyrone are appealing for information following a distraction burglary at an elderly woman's home. An man called at the 90-year-old woman's home in the Linen Court area of Dungannon at around 5pm on Thursday. He told the woman he had seen a burglar entering her home and advised her to check the house to ensure nothing had been taken.

Elderly woman robbed at her home
Three men have robbed an elderly woman at her home in Camlough, just outside Newry. The robbery took place at a house on Quarter Road on Monday July 16th just before 7.15pm when the men approached the back door of the house asking for a glass of water. As one stood at the back door asking for the water another talked to the woman from a window.
