Investigation Launched After Van Found Burnt Out In South Belfast

Police have launched an investigation after a van was discovered burnt out in south Belfast.

The white Citroën van was found on fire on the Hillsborough Road in Carryduff, close to the Lough Moss Leisure Centre, at around 11pm on Monday, 26 September.

A number of people wearing hoodies and tracksuit bottoms were seen fleeing the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Work van burnt out in Sandy Row
Police in Belfast are appealing for information after a van was attacked and burnt out in the Sandy Row area of the city. The van belonged to workmen who were removing graffiti from a wall in the area. Four men armed with baseball bats approached the van at around 12pm and began to smash it before burning the vehicle out.

Post Office Van Driver Hijacked In West Belfast
A post office van driver has been hijacked and threatened with a knife in west Belfast. The vehicle was stolen in Ross Road on Tuesday which was later found abandoned in the Valleyside Close area. A security alert was launched and the part of the Springfield Road was closed on Wednesday, however it has since been re-opened.

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Council has slammed vandals who caused over £65,000 worth of damage to equipment at a children's play park. Extensive fire damage was caused at Ballymena's People's Park on Sunday night, 23 April.

Teen Injured After Being Hit By Van In South Belfast
A teenager has been injured after being hit by a van in south Belfast. The incident happened on the Rosetta Road at around 8.30am on Monday, 30 January. The 17-year-old boy has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital and is being treated for a suspected head injury. The road was closed but has since been reopened.
