Belfast DPP to examine police performance in detail
The first six-month special meeting of the recently constituted Belfast District Policing Partnerships will examine the performance of the police in the first half-year reporting period.
One of the principal responsibilities of the District Policing Partnership (DPP) is to monitor the performance of the Police Service for Northern Ireland.
Although this considered at every public meeting of the DPP, once every six months a special meeting is held at which the Police are required to present detailed reports.
These reports include:
Members of the public who either live in or are affected by the policing of the city are welcome to attend the DPP meeting.
Copies of the reports from the four PSNI District Commanders for Belfast City area will be available at the meeting.

- the steps that are being taken to progress policing with the community and core function of all police within the City
- the contribution that the Police are making to any Community Safety Projects within the City
- progress in achieving targets set out in the Local and Annual Policing Plans
- progress in achieving targets relative to crime prevention in the City.
Members of the public who either live in or are affected by the policing of the city are welcome to attend the DPP meeting.
Copies of the reports from the four PSNI District Commanders for Belfast City area will be available at the meeting.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Investigation Launched After Heroin And Cash Seized In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after discovering heroin and a sum of cash in Belfast city centre. Four wraps of the Class A drugs were found in bushes on Wednesday, 30 November. Police also seized a sum of cash. The PSNI are continuing with their enquiries.

Police Issue Appeal Over Attempted PSNI Murder
The PSNI has issued an appeal to the public regarding the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer and his family at their home in east Belfast on Sunday 30 December. Detectives from Serious Crime Branch want to speak to late night revellers who got taxis in Belfast city centre that weekend.

Security Minister welcomes police training college decision
Security Minister Jane Kennedy has welcomed the Policing Board's decision to locate the new police training college in Cookstown, Co Tyrone. The new centre will built on a 210-acre site beside a food science centre at Desertcreat on the outskirts of the town and is expected to open in 2007 at a projected cost of about £80m.
