Police probe arson attack on Glengormley home

Police are investigating an arson attack on a house in Carnview Crescent in Glengormly, Co Antrim, this morning.

The incident occurred at around 5.15am when a petrol bomb hit and set fire to the front door of the house.

A man, a woman and their son who had been upstairs when the attack occurred escaped from the house through the back door. They were later treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

The resulting blaze damaged the front door and spread to the hall before it was brought under control. The house suffered smoke damage.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact detectives in Newtownabbey.

House targeted in suspected petrol bomb attack

The incident occurred at a property on the Listooder Road at around 12.45am on Monday. Scorch damage was caused to the front door of the house and a door mat was also destroyed by the fire.

A young mother has said she feared for her life during an arson attack on her Londonderry home. Lisa Cruikshank, 27, became aware of blazes outside her front and back door when her smoke alarm went off on Saturday morning.

Property Badly Smoke Damaged In Rasharkin
A property has been badly smoke damaged in Rasharkin after a firework exploded at the door of the house. The incident happened in the Carnfintan Park area in the early hours of Sunday, 18 April. No-one was injured during the incident.

'Bouncers' Get More Time For Registration
An anticipated deadline for the licensing of 'bouncers' across NI is to be extended. All in-house door supervisors working in the security industry in Northern Ireland were initially required to obtain a licence from the SIA (Security Industry Authority) by the end of December.
