19-Year-Old Man Critical After North Belfast Stabbing

A 19-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing in north Belfast on Saturday.

It is understood that the man suffered injuries to his face, neck and arms in an incident close to the junction of Harcourt Drive and Manor Street, off the Cliftonville Road, at around 7pm on Saturday, 17 September.

According to reports, a 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Sinn Féin Councillor JJ Magee condemned the incident and appealed for witnesses to contact police.

"This incident has shocked the local community in north Belfast," Councillor Magee said. "I hope that the victim can make a full recovery from his injuries. It highlights once again the dangers of knife crime on our streets. I would call on anyone with information on this incident to come forward and assist the police investigation."

The incident happened at a property on Mounthill Walk shortly before noon on Thursday, 23 March. Two men pushed passed a woman, aged in her 80s, to enter the house. One man held the woman down while the other searched a bedroom.
