Footballer Critically Ill After Assault In Co L'Derry
A footballer remains in a critical condition following an attack in Co L'Derry.
Niall Grace, who plays for Institute Football Club, was assaulted in Waterloo Street at around 12.45am on Sunday, 11 September.
His football club tweeted: "Our thoughts and prayers are with @Institute_FC player Niall Grace who is in hospital in a critical condition."
A man in his 20s has been arrested charged with causing grevious bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
He is also accused of possessing a Class A drug.
The man is to appear at Londonderry Magistrates' Court today, 12 September.

Footballer Niall Grace is conscious and has been moved out of intensive care. Niall, who plays for Institute Football Club, was assaulted in Waterloo Street in L'Derry on Sunday, 11 September. The club released a statement which said his family has been in contact and confirmed he was making progress.

Bullets Posted To Footballer Paddy McCourt
Bullets have been sent to Celtic Footballer Paddy McCourt just days after his team mate and manager received similar packages. The envelope, posted in Northern Ireland, was found by staff at a Royal Mail sorting office in Glasgow. Earlier this week bullets were sent to Celtic boss Neil Lennon and player Niall McGinn at their club.

Five die on NI roads over the weekend
Five people have died on Northern Ireland's roads over the weekend. In Co Tyrone last night, two people died when a car and a four-wheel-drive collided just outside the village of Augher. A woman passenger in the car is still in critical condition following the accident.

Fermanagh gaelic footballer Mark McGovern is to return to the game after what has been described as a "miracle" recovery from a severe brain injury he suffered in 2011. The 25-year-old suffered an off-the-ball injury at a game in the United States, which left him in a coma.

Northern Irish TV star Christine Bleakley has told of a health scare that left her cancer-conscious and wary of the sun. The Dancing On Ice presenter was ordered by doctors to have three moles removed, from her leg, lower back, and neck and a few days after the operation she was given the relief of an all-clear.
