Man Arrested Following Arson Attacks In South Belfast
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a number of arson attacks in south Belfast.
Two cars were set on fire in the Joy Street area and another vehicle was set alight in Friendly Street in the early hours of Friday morning, 09 September.
Paper was also set alight and pushed through the letterboxes of two houses in Friendly Street and one property in Joy Street.
A man received hospital treatment after attempting to put one of the fires out.
A window at a commercial property in Hamilton Street was also smashed and PSNI believe an attempted arson occurred at the premises.
The suspect was arrested in the Oxford Street area on suspicion of breach of bail, four counts of arson and three counts of arson endangering life.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an arson attack at a property in south Belfast. At approximately 10.20pm on Saturday, 13 April, police received a report of a fire at a house in the Kilburn Street area. Police attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.

Eight Children Escape Injury In Arson Attack
Police believe a fire at a house in Antrim was the result of an arson attack. It is understood that 10 people – eight of them children aged between one and 13 – escaped injury when an accelerant was used to deliberately start a fire at the property in the Islay Street area of Antrim just after midnight.

Work Starts On Road Improvement Projects In Co Armagh
Contractors have started work on £170,000 road improvement projects in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The schemes are taking place at Irish Street Richhill and Gilford Street. They involve the resurfacing of 1km of roads and where appropriate the reinstatement of footways and verges. To facilitate the schemes, temporary road closures will be in place.
