Number Of Shots Fired At House In Lurgan

A number of shots have been fired at a house in Lurgan, Co Tyrone.

Four people were in the property in the Princes Street area when the attack happened at around 2am on Monday, 05 September.

No-one was injured however the occupants were left badly shaken.

The PSNI are treating the attack as a "hate crime".

Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Seeley said: "I wish to put on the record my utter condemnation of this attack.

"Fortunately no one was injured but it must have been a frightening experience for those nearby.

"There is no place whatsoever for attacks like these in our society.

"I would appeal for anyone with information to contact the PSNI."

Upper Bann DUP MLA Carla Lockhart said: "This attack it totally abhorrent and I whole heartedly condemn those responsible. An attack like this is worrying and upsetting not least for those living in the house at the time.

"Many within the community will be shocked by this hate crime. Incidents like this tarnish the good name of Lurgan and the people that live there, who certainly do not want to see this type of activity. Nobody should have to live in fear of attacks like this.

"It was a mindless act and I am grateful that today we aren't mourning the loss of four individuals, who were very badly shaken by the incident."
