Security Alert In North Belfast
Residents have been evacuated from their homes during a security alert in north Belfast.
A suspicious object was discovered in the Atlantic Avenue area this morning, 25 August.
Police and army bomb experts are currently at the scene.
The road has been closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
No further information has been released.
Sinn Féin Councillor Mary Ellen Campbell said: "This attack was wrong and must be utterly condemned.
"It has brought nothing but disruption to the local community with several homes being evacuated.
"Incidents like this serve no purpose other than bringing disruption to the community and they need to stop immediately."

Homes Evacuated In Newry Security Alert
A number of homes have been evacuated during a security alert in Newry. A police cordon was established in Violet Hill Avenue following a report of a suspicious object in the area at around 3.45pm on Sunday 24 November. A small number of homes were evacuated and the cordon erected, covering the junction of College Gardens.

Hundreds Of New Homes To Be Developed In Co Down
Approximately 50 construction jobs are to be created as part of a £50million project to develop 900 new homes in Comber, Co Down. Northern Ireland homebuilders Hagan Homes has started construction work on the first phase of the 'Enler Village' site on the Newtownards Road, which includes the development of 17 new homes.
