Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Ballymena Magistrates' Court.
Jensen Shingleton claimed Housing Benefit, Income Support and Carers' Allowance totalling £5,305 while failing to declare employment. He was given a three year conditional discharge.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
L'Derry Building Firm Fined For Breaching Waste Management Legislation
A building firm in Co L'Derry has been fined for breaching waste management legislation.
O'Kane and McLaughlin Builders Ltd in Ardmore has been fined £250 and an offender levy of £15 at Londonderry Magistrates' Court.
Officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency visited the site on Green Road on three occasions between March 2013 and May 2015. They found quantities of construction and demolition waste deposited on the site and infilled down the bank from the edge of the road.
The company did not hold the relevant waste management licence or an exemption to deposit or keep waste at the site.
Dale Farm Extension Welcomed
SDLP Agriculture Spokesperson and Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has welcomed an announcement from Cookstown-based dairy company Dale Farm to proceed with a £20million investment in its facilities.
He said: "Dale Farm has been a prolific part of our Agri-Food industry and a great source of employment and economic growth for Cookstown.
"The firm has shown real commitment to the area with this announcement coming just as it opens a new £7million packaging line that created 60 jobs."

Plastics Workers' Get Second Chance
The purchase of a bankrupt specialist plastics firm in Co Armagh by a new owner is expected to give the firm's former staff a new lease of life. Seventy people were working at Reflex Mouldings in Markethill when it went into administration in June. Now, the workers will be offered new jobs by the firm's new owners.
