OCI To Cooperate Fully Over Alleged Ticket Touting
The Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) has confirmed it will cooperate fully with any State inquiry into its handling of ticketing arrangements for the Rio Olympics.
Head of the OCI, Patrick Hickey, stood down from his post after being arrested by police in Rio over allegations of illegal ticket sales at this year's Games.
Following his arrest, he was taken to hospital after falling ill.
He has since been discharged from hospital and is to be questioned by the police.
In a statement the OCI said: "The OCI will now also commission its own independent inquiry into the ticketing arrangements for Rio 2016. The previously announced internal inquiry by the OCI has been discontinued."
