Sinn Féin delegation meet Fine Gael in Belfast

A Sinn Féin delegation has met with Fine Gael in Belfast today.

The delegation, Bairbre deBrún, Conor Murphy and Dublin South West TD Seán Crowe, met with Fine Gael party leader Enda Kenny as part of a series of meetings being held by Mr Kenny with the pro-Agreement parties in Northern Ireland.

Speaking after the meeting Mr Murphy said: "These sorts of meetings are further evidence of a growing realisation amongst other parties of the all-Ireland nature of post Good Friday Agreement politics. We would obviously encourage the other parties to follow the Sinn Féin lead and organise formally on an all-Ireland basis."

The two parties are believed to have discussed the recent peace negotiations between the UUP and Sinn Fein. Also discussed was the issue of Northern political representation in the Southern political institutions and efforst by Sinn Féin to have a Green paper on Irish unity brought forward in the Dail.
