Family escape injury in petrol bomb attack

A family have escaped injury after their home was attacked with petrol bombs in Londonderry last night.

Two devices were thrown at the family's home in the loyalist Fountain Estate at around 7.35pm.

It is believed the devices were thrown from the nearby Bishop Street area.

A number of other devices were also thrown at a nearby military base shortly afterwards.

No one was injured in this attack.

Family escape injury in petrol bomb attack
A family has escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown at their home in Co Antrim last night. At around 11.55pm, a petrol bomb struck the rear of the family home on Drumahoe Road, in the Millbrook area of Larne. The petrol bomb, which struck close to an upper bedroom window, ignited causing scorch damage.

Petrol bombs thrown at family home
Police are treating a petrol-bomb attack at a home in Co Antrim last night as a sectarian incident. At around 10.45pm, two petrol bombs were thrown at a house in the Ashley Park area of Dunmurray in south Belfast. A couple and their seven-year-old and 10-month-old children were in the house at the time but they were not injured in the incident.

Muslim family endure attack on family home
A gang of around ten men has targeted the County Armagh home of a Muslim family in what is thought to have been a racially motivated attack. The attack occurred at around 2.30am on Saturday morning when the family were at home in their house in the Enniskeen area of Craigavon.

Police come under attack in Londonderry
Police in Londonderry have been attacked for the second time this week after petrol bombs and other missiles were thrown at officers by rioters in the Fountain area of the city last night. One person was arrested following the clashes when up to 14 devices were thrown at police in the Bishop Street area of the city at around 10.30pm.

Petrol Bombs And Improvised Devices Thrown At Police In L'Derry
Over 70 petrol bombs and two improvised devices were thrown at police officers in L'Derry on Thursday, 12 July. The PSNI were forced to fire plastic baton rounds in response to the trouble. Makeshift barricades were also set alight on a number of roads. Three men, aged 18, 22 and 50 were arrested.
