Two Pensioners 'Very Badly Shaken' Following Burglary In Co Antrim

Two pensioners have been left "very badly shaken" after being tied up during an aggravated burglary at a house in Ballymoney, Co Antrim.

The incident happened at a property in the Lisnagat Road area at around 1am on Monday, 08 August.

Two masked men, believed to be armed with guns, ransacked the house and threatened and tied up a man and woman, aged in their 70s.

The men made off with a sum of cash.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Mother freed by young daughter after robbery
A four-year-old girl freed her mother after two robbers who ransacked their Antrim home had left her tied her up in a bedroom. Two men pushed their way into a house close to the Antrim Area Hospital, when the 46-year-old woman answered the door. They forced her into the bedroom where they tied her up.

Man tied up and robbed in Co Antrim
A man has been tied up and robbed at his home in Co Antrim. He was in the garage of his home in the Ballywillan area of Portrush when two men broke in and attacked him. They demanded money and the keys to his van before escaping with a sum of money. The van was later found burnt out near Coleraine.

Man Dies Following Collision In Ballymoney
A 21-year-old man has died after he sustained serious injuries in a car crash in County Antrim almost three weeks ago. John Reid, from Ballymena, was one of two men injured in the single car collision on the Kilraughts Road on 30 August. Mr Reid died in hospital on Thursday. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
