Pair Charged With Over 40 Offences In Connection With Robberies Across NI

Two men have been charged with several offences in connection with robberies across Northern Ireland.

The suspects, aged 32 and 37, have been charged with over 40 offences each in relation to burglaries in Dungannon, Newcastle and west Belfast.

They appeared in Newtownards Magistrates Court charged with offences each including, but not limited to, aggravated burglary, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, false imprisonment and assault on police.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear in court on 05 August.

Elderly Man Accused Of Raping Minor
A 67-year-old man is to appear in court today, charged with raping and indecently assaulting a minor. The man was detained by police yesterday. It is believed the alleged offences took place in east Belfast between 2005 and 2006. The man is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court this morning, police said.

Extradited man denies murder
A 43-year-old Chinese man who was extradited from Hong Kong in connection with the death of a Chinese woman has denied murder. Wong Sui Ching appeared today at Belfast Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of 29-year-old part-time waitress Ho Mi Ye. She had been found strangled at her home in Isoline Street in east Belfast in June 1998.

Man In Court Over Attempted Robberies And Firearm Offences
A man is expected to appear in court today, 08 July, charged with carrying a firearm and a number of other offences in north Belfast. The man has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of going equipped for theft and two counts of carrying a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Man Charged With Manslaughter
A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 51-year-old man in Newry. The man died in the Dublin Road area on Wednesday, 17 January. The 32-year-old suspect has also been charged with drugs offences including possession of heroin with intent to supply. He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Thursday, 18 January.

Prisoner Charged With Terror Offences Refuses To Recognise Court
A 29-year-old man refused to recognise a Northern Ireland court as he was charged with a series of terror-related offences. Niall Lehd, a serving prisoner, refused to stand when asked by District Judge Nigel Broderick at Ballymena Magistrates Court in County Antrim on Thursday 20 December.
