Man Critical After Falling Over 30ft Into A Cave In Co Antrim

A man has been seriously injured after he fell over 30 feet into a cave near Dunluce Castle in Co Antrim.

The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Sunday, 24 July.

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said an inshore lifeboat rescued him.

He was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he remains in a critical condition.

Three other people at the scene where also escorted to safety.

Police Appeal For Information On North Belfast Burglary
Police have issued an appeal for information following the burglary of an elderly woman's home in north Belfast. Thieves broke into the property on the Old Cave Hill Road at about 8am on Sunday, 29 July. It is understood that the elderly homeowner was in the house at the time of the burglary but was not harmed.

Arrest Follows Cave Hill Death
The discovery of as body at the foot of Belfast Cavehill on Saturday afternoon has led to the arrest of and continuing questioning of a 24-year-old man. The dead man, who is thought to have been in his 30s, has now been identified but the police have not yet released his name.

Woodland Trust Acquires New Land In The Belfast Hills
The Woodland Trust In NI has acquired new land in the Belfast Hills. Biffa Award allocated the funding as part of the Landfill Communities Fund, and NIEA, the UK's largest woodland conservation charity has taken ownership of 98 hectares next to Cave Hill Country Park, with plans to conserve and restore the site.

Police Appeal For Missing Antrim Man
Police have launched an appeal to help trace a missing Antrim man. Timothy Ferguson was last seen on 14 September and the PSNI are concerned for his welfare. A police spokesperson said: "Police are concerned regarding the welfare of Antrim resident Timothy Ferguson. Timothy has not been seen since the 14th September 2017.

Seven Arrested Over Fraud And Laundering
Seven people have been arrested and are being questioned by the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch as part of an investigation into money laundering and insurance fraud. Six people were arrested in Ballymena and one in Scotland on Wednesday 29 May. The six were three men aged 53, 31 and 45 and three women aged 50, 26 and 46.
