Police Issue Warning To Pokemon Go Players

Police have issued a warning to Pokemon Go players after a man jumped out in front of traffic on a road in Co Down.

Police received reports of the incident on the A2 in Holywood on Thursday, 21 July.

On a Facebook post a PSNI spokesperson wrote: "Already this morning we had a reports of a male jumping out in front of traffic on the A2, Holywood. Can you guess why?

"I don't care how rare the Pokemon is, it's not worth your life."

Previously, PSNI in Craigavon caught a car "cruising slowly" because her sister wanted to catch some Pokemon.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Pokemon Go is not designed to be played from a vehicle that's moving on a road. This is a massive road safety issue, at best, it's careless. You can't cruise about the road at 15mph, its far too dangerous folks regardless of the time of day."

Man In Hospital After Dog Attack In Banbridge
A man is receiving hospital treatment after being attacked by a dog in Banbridge, Co Down. At around 10.50am on Monday, 03 October, police received a report that a man had been attacked by a dog in the Lurgan Road area. Officers arrived at the scene and brought the dog under control.
