Temperatures Soar Across NI

Temperatures in Northern Ireland have reached to over 27 degrees in some parts, making it the hottest day of the year.

However, the sun is expected to disappear later this evening and thunderstorms are to break out over parts of NI.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning which comes into effect today at 5pm, 19 July, through to 6pm on Wednesday, 20 July.

There will also be a risk of flash flooding in some parts and the electricity network may also be affected.

NI Temperatures To Reach 27 Degrees
Temperatures in Northern Ireland are set to soar to 27 degrees tomorrow, 19 July. Sunny spells are expected and it is to become increasingly warm throughout the day. Thundery showers will develop later in the evening and a yellow weather warning has been put in place from 5pm.

Mother and daughter die in road crash
A road traffic accident in Co Down has claimed the lives of a woman and her seven-year-old daughter. The accident occurred on the Comber Road at its junction with Landsdowne Road in Newtownards at around 5pm yesterday.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued For Parts Of NI
A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office for parts of Northern Ireland on Wednesday, 31 January. The weather warning comes into effect at 9.00 am and is due to remain in place until 5.00 pm with warnings that it could impact travel, cause power outages and lead to large waves in coastal areas.

Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning For Some Parts Of NI
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain in some parts of Northern Ireland. The rain is expected to be heavy on Monday after in Counties Antrim, L'Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone. Travel is also expected to be disrupted and more flooding is expected.

Arrest After Hit-And-Run Incident
A man has been arrested following a suspected hit-and-run incident in Co Fermanagh. A man in his 50s was killed in the accident which occurred on the Tullychurry Road, Belleek, just before 3am on Sunday (5 January). Police said they believe the man was struck by a car which had failed to stop at the scene.
