New Secretary Of State For NI Meets With Justice Minister
The new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, James Brokenshire, has met with Justice Minister Claire Sugden MLA.
They discussed a range of strategic issues including the current security situation in NI, the operational implications of the EU referendum outcome, the justice elements of the Fresh Start Agreement and how the region can move forward in establishing the structures to deal with the legacy of the past.
Minister Sugden said: "I look forward to a positive working relationship with the Secretary of State and am committed to working with him alongside my Executive colleagues to ensure the best interests of Northern Ireland are represented."

Women Left 'Shaken' After Shooting
The PSNI are today probing an overnight shooting in Co Londonderry. The incident was at Hawthorne Place in Coleraine and saw three masked men entering a house shortly before 5pm on Wednesday and then firing a shot into a wall in the property before the three made off.

Justice Minister David Ford has said the findings of a report on the so-called 'On the Run' letters are the first steps in rebuilding confidence in the justice system. Lady Justice Hallett has completed a review, ordered by Prime Minister David Cameron, on the so-called 'On the Run' letters.

Claire Sugden Named NI Justice Minister
Independent unionist MLA Claire Sugden is to be NI's new Justice Minister. Ms Sugden will take over from Alliance leader David Ford, who turned down the post. She said the decision to take justice ministry was the most difficult of her life, however she was up for the challenge.
