Police Appeal After Young Man Seriously Assaulted In Co Down

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young man sustained serious injuries during an assault at an Eleventh night bonfire in Co Down.

The attack happened in the Westwinds Estate in Newtownards at around 1am.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "We can be contacted by calling 101 and request to speak with the Detectives in Bangor or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800555111."

Teen Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Gerard Quinn
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man in L'Derry. Gerard Quinn was attacked in the Milldale Crescent area at around 10.25pm on Saturday, 21 May. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he later died.

Man Seriously Assaulted In Co Antrim
A man has been seriously assaulted by a number of masked men in Co Antrim. The incident occurred on 17 May at approximately 11.30pm in Adelaide Avenue, Whitehead. It is understood the attackers dragged the 20-year-old male from his flat into a communal hallway. The victim was then assaulted with hammers and a hatchet.

Man due in court charged with attempted murder
A 34-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder. The charge relates to an attack on a 50-year-old man in east Belfast, on Tuesday. Police received a report at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night that a man had been seriously assaulted on the Greenville Road in the Beersbridge Road area of the city.

Two people seriously assaulted in Downpatrick
Two people have been treated in hospital following an attack in County Down last night. At around 7.35pm, police were called to the English Street area of Downpatrick, following reports that a man and a woman had been seriously assaulted outside the front door of their home by two people.
