AMT-SYBEX Wins £8.7m Deal
Belfast based AMT-SYBEX, a software and services company, has been awarded an £8.7 million deal for nine years to deliver a new state of the art food, animal health and traceability system for Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland Food Animal Information System (NIFAIS) will be an improved replacement for the Animal and Public Health Information System (APHIS), which has been in operation since November 1998.
Brian Mitchell, Head of Technical Delivery at AMT-SYBEX, commented: "We're delighted to have been selected to deliver NIFAIS in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), and look forward to providing a functionally rich and highly configurable system which will support DAERA's business through the next 15 years and beyond."

DAERA Warning Of Disruption Amid Upcoming Strike Action
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has warned of "the potential for significant disruption" as a result of a planned five-day industrial action. NIPSA and GMB members across Veterinary Service Animal Health Group (VSAHG) will begin industrial action from Monday, 30 October.
