Teen Arrested In Connection With Racially-Motivated Attack In South Belfast

A 13-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been arrested in connection with a racially-motivated attack in south Belfast.

The pair allegedly bumped into a 55-year-old man on Tate's Avenue at around 10.10pm on Saturday, 09 July.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises to his face and hands during the attack.

The suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A PSNI spokesman said: "We would take this opportunity to remind the public that incidents of this nature will not be tolerated and would encourage anyone who has been the victim of a hate incident/crime to report the matter to their local Police on 101."

A man has been arrested in connection with a sex attack in south Belfast. The incident happened in the University Street area of Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday, 07 March, according to the police. A 25-year-old is in custody helping police with their enquiries.

Man remanded over city attack
A 22-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and obstruction. Andrew Aparicio, of Kilbroney House in the Cregagh estate in east Belfast appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court today, charged in connection with the serious assault on a man in in the Connsbrooke Avenue area of the city shortly before 12.

Man Shot In Co L'Derry
A man has been shot in the ankle in Co L'Derry. The paramilitary-style attack happened near the Creggan shops at around 7.45pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".
