Microlight Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing In Newtownards
A microlight pilot had to make an emergency landing in a field in Co Down following an engine failure.
Emergency services and police attended the scene, close to the Moate Road, between Comber and Newtownards, this morning, 08 July.
The pilot landed safely and neither he or the passenger on board was hurt.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Some of you may have noticed emergency services activity along Comber to Ards carriageway. This microlight had to make an emergency landing few minutes ago after an engine failure but luckily pilot was able to land safely in a field. Both persons are safe and well I am glad to report. We will be on scene for a while yet pending arrival of relevant air investigation team."

Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Belfast
A plane had to make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport after it was diverted due to high winds and ran low on fuel. The Air France flight had 93 passengers on board was due to land in Dublin but got into difficulty on Thursday. The airport confirmed the flight had landed safely in Belfast at 3.43pm. No injuries were reported.

Flight Forced To Make Emergency Landing
A plane travelling from Belfast to Barcelona has been forced to make an emergency landing following a suspected fuel leak. On Tuesday night, the Boeing 747 flight, which had around 150 passengers on board, was forced to re-route to Cork Airport. It landed safely at the airport just before midnight.

A Flybe plane has made an emergency landing at Belfast City Airport. It is believed the aeroplane had minor technical difficulties after leaving for Manchester on Wednesday night. The pilot made the decision to return to base as a precaution after 15 minutes. Emergency services were called to ensure the plane landed safely.
