Recruitment Campaign Launches For Warrenpoint Harbour Authority

A recruitment campaign has launched to appoint two non-executive members to Warrenpoint Harbour Authority.

The competition aims to appoint members who will bring his or her experience and judgement to the Board and help develop the diversity of the Board and be representative of the society they serve.

Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard said: "These key posts offer an excellent opportunity for individuals to make a tangible and valued contribution to the management of the important port.

"I would encourage anyone who considers that they meet the criteria and can bring with them a genuine desire to make a contribution to the work of the Port to seriously considering applying."

The appointments will be effective from 01 November 2016 and will run for a period of four years.

67 Wicklow Jobs Lost As Health Farm Closes
Over 60 jobs are set to go at one of Ireland's longest running health farms. Wicklow's Powercourt Springs will close at the end of October. Workers are expected to enter into consultation with management over the next number of weeks. The announcement comes amid the sale of 42-acres at the Powerscourt estate, to an unnamed buyer.

Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen, has announced the appointment of five Non-Executive Members to the Board of Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company (NITHC). NITHC is a Public Corporation with responsibility for oversight of Translink in terms of support, control and supervision.

Union Fights To Defend 1,550 Jobs
Members of Unite the union are fighting to defend 1,550 jobs at the flagship Legal & General site in Kingswood, Surrey, have vowed to fight on following the announcement that the group's board intends to close the site by 2018. In a communication to staff L&G confirmed the proposal to close the site by the Summer of 2018.
