Investigation Launched Following Attempted Robbery In L'Derry

Police have launched an investigation following an attempted robbery at a food outlet in Co L'Derry.

A young man, armed with a knife, entered a pizza shop in the New Row area just after midnight on Monday, 27 June.

He muttered something indiscernible to a member of staff before leaving.

The man is described as being aged around 20-years-old, approximately 6ft tall, slim build with ginger facial stubble.

He made off on a bicycle in the direction of Bushmills Road.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police Appeal Following Armed Robbery In L'Derry
Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a hotel in L'Derry on Sunday. An unknown man, carrying a suspected firearm, entered the premises on the Prehen Road and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash just after 6pm.
