Five Arrested After Weapons Seized In Co Down

Five people have been arrested after police seized several knives during a "large-scale disturbance" in Banbridge, Co Down.

The items were discovered in the Limewood area of the town on Monday, 20 June.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Thankfully, even with the array of weaponry being used, there were no serious injuries.

"These weapons could have killed today, easily."

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them,

The drugs were discovered during a vehicle stop and search in Moira on Thursday, 19 September. Detectives have charged the 49-year-old man with possession and possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug.

Man Charged With Drugs Offences In Co Antrim
A man has been charged with drugs offences in Co Antrim. The 42-year-old man was charged after police seized £30,000 of suspected herbal cannabis in the Ballymoney area. He was arrested on the Frosses Road on Monday. He has been charged with possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

Weapons Seized During Co Tyrone Funeral
Three men have been arrested and a number of weapons seized following a disturbance at a funeral in Strabane. No serious injuries occurred during the incident at a church on the Melmount Road this morning, Thursday 27 February, however Stanley knives and a hatchet were among the items removed from the scene.

Police Attacked As 'Dissident' Weapons Seized
Police conducting searches in the Craigavon area as part of planned searches in connection with dissident republican activity have been attacked. While there are no reports of injuries, police were stoned and petrol bombed in sporadic attacks by youths.
