Two Children Struck By Lightning Released From Hospital

Two children who were seriously injured following a lightning strike in Lisburn have been released from hospital.

Seven-year-old Georgia Allen and her five-year-old brother Geordie sustained burn injuries in the incident which occurred outside Killowen Primary School on Tuesday, 07 June.

Their father, George Allen, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Gardaí have released a man without charge after arresting him in connection with the murder of a man from L'Derry. The man in his 40s was released on Thursday evening. Father of two Andrew Allen was shot dead on 9 February 2012 at his house at Links View Parka house near Buncrana, County Donegal.

Father And Son 'Critical' Following Lightning Strike
A man and his five-year-old son are in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by lightning outside a school in Lisburn, Co Antrim. The man's seven-year-old daughter is in a stable condition following the incident at Killowen Primary School on Tuesday afternoon, 07 June.

Disabled Respite Facility To Be Built
There's good news this week for those caring for disabled children. The Stormont Health Minister Michael McGimpsey yesterday announced a £2.2million investment to develop a new residential respite facility for disabled children in the Western Trust area.
