PSNI Commend Young Boy After Handing In Powdered Substance Found In Newtownards
Police in Newtownards have commended a young boy after he handed in a powdered substance in a small white bag.
Test results revealed the substance was 'not defined under the Misuse of Drugs Schedule', however the PSNI commended the boy for his actions.
The substance was discovered in a play park in the Hawthorn Crescent area in Ballyhalbert on Tuesday, 31 May.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police will continue with robust action against those in society who use, supply or produce controlled drugs across the whole district."

Boy Critical After Coming Into Contact With Unknown Substance
A young boy is in a critical condition in hospital after he came in contact with an unknown substance at a site in west Belfast. The incident happened at a bonfire site in Glenwood Street, just off the Shankill Road, over the weekend. Police have issued a warning to parents and guardians who may have visited the site to monitor them closely.

Teenager In Hospital After Taking 'Darth Vadar' Tablet
A 14-year-old boy is being treated in hospital after taking a drug known as "Darth Vadar", according to the police. He is believed to have taken a half of one tablet in Holywood, Co Down, on Saturday, 28 January. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday, 29 January, on suspicion of drugs offences and has been detained in custody.

Police Appeal After Boy Hit By Car In Co Down
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a five-year-old boy was hit by a car in Co Down. The crash happened in the Malcolmson Park area in Magheralin just after 4.45pm on Thursday, 12 January. He is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
