Concerns Raised Over Number Of Police In Operation At Woodburn Forest

Serious concerns have been raised at the number of police vehicles in operation during a protest over the ongoing drilling at Woodburn Forest near Carrickfergus.

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan said the police should be focusing on tackling crime in our communities.

Mr McMullan said: ""There can be up to six police vehicles at Woodburn at any given time which seems excessive given the protest in place there against the drilling is orderly and law abiding.

"I will be contacting the PSNI commander in the area to discuss these concerns and to see what can be done about ensuring the police response is appropriate."
