Three Arrested After Boy 'Suspiciously Approached' In Co Antrim

Three men have been arrested after a young boy was "suspiciously approached" in Co Antrim.

The incident happened in the Bawnmore Grove area, Newtownabbey, at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

Inspector Colin Ash said: "Shortly after 4.30pm it was reported that a number of males in a car were acting suspiciously in the area. It was reported that a car matching the description had been seen in the area of Bawnmore Park on Sunday evening and the occupants had approached a young boy close to a shop in the area.

"Police responded and the three males, aged 49, 55 and 58, were arrested in the Shore Road area on suspicion of going equipped for theft. A fourth male, who was reported to have been in the car, made off on foot along Mill Road."

The three suspects are currently being detained by the police.

Three Men Arrested Over Armed Robbery In Co Down
Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Killinchy, Co Down. The incident happened at a shop in the Comber Road area at around 7.30pm on Sunday, 26 March. A man, armed with a hammer, entered the premises and threatened a female member of staff. He made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

Bangor Man Fighting For Life After Belfast Attack
A weekend attack in south Belfast has left a man fighting for his life. Police are currently questioning two men about the attack, which happened in the Markets area on Friday night. The victim – 41-year-old taxi driver Jeremy Mooney from Bangor – remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Man seriously assaulted in Castledawson
Police in County Londonderry have appealed for information following a serious assault in the area over the weekend. A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was assaulted by a group of males after a disturbance outside his home in the New Row area of Castledawson, at around 2.15am on Sunday morning.
