Man Charged Over £100,000 Herbal Cannabis Find

A 25-year-old man has been charged after police seized £100,000 of herbal cannabis in Co L'Derry.

The man has been charged with conspiracy to cultivate cannabis, dishonestly using electricity and encouraging or assisting offences in relation to the cultivation of cannabis.

He is due to appear at Limavady Magistrates Court on Thursday 09 June.

All charges are to be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said: "The charge follows the discovery of a cannabis factory in the Limavady area following a proactive search by detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch on Wednesday 16 March where herbal cannabis worth over £100,000 was seized. Two men aged 46 and 53 were arrested at the time and were later charged to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Friday 18 March. The 25-year-old man was arrested on Thursday 17 Marchand was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries before he was charged on Friday 20 May."

A 31-year-old man has been charged with possession of herbal cannabis, worth an estimated value of £11,000, with intent to supply. The suspect is due to appear at Newry Magistrates Court today, 30 December. Police made the discovery during a house search in the Dungormley Estate in Newtownhamilton yesterday, 08 December.

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two cannabis factories in County Down. At around 9:25am on Sunday 29th January, police received a report of a disturbance in the Kilkinamurry Road area of Ballyward.

Third Arrest In South Belfast Drug Seizures
A third person has been arrested following the seizure of suspected herbal cannabis in the Donegall Quay area of south Belfast on the afternoon of Wednesday 8 October. The 30-year-old man was arrested by detectives in the Westland Road area of Portadown, County Armagh, on Wednesday evening on suspicion of drug trafficking offences.
