Increase In NI-Related Terrorism 'Alarming And Unexpected' - Foster
The increase of the Northern Ireland-related terrorism from moderate to substantial has been described as "alarming and unexpected" by First Minister Arlene Foster.
Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show Minister Foster said that she was "rather surprised" by the increased threat level.
UK security forces increased the level last week following the most recent security assessment.
Commenting on the situation, Mrs Foster said that Stormont would "work even harder to fight the threat of terrorism", and said that the Executive "need to bring stability to Northern Ireland in a way they really don't want to see happening."
