Former GAA President Jack Boothman Dies
The former president of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Jack Boothman has passed away.
Mr Boothman served as GAA President between 1994 and 1997.
Former Wicklow PRO Jackie Napier said: "He was respected not only in Wicklow, but all over the country for his work. The development of Croke Park had a lot to do with Liam Mulvihill and Jack, who were both very forward thinking.
"Most of the planning for Croke Park was done during his term, and it was a very important time for the GAA.
"He was elected President in the Burlington, and he was then installed in the Slieve Russell in Cavan. I was lucky enough to attend when the two Wicklow men, Hugh Byrne and Jack, were installed as President."

The DUP has asked the Irish President Michael D Higgins if he is "officially snubbing" Northern Ireland's centenary. Strangford MLA Peter Weir has written to the Irish President asking if his office is joining the SDLP and SF in boycotting events which mark NI's centenary.

Irish President Pulls Out Of Belfast Centenary Dinner
Irish President Michael D Higgins has pulled out of attending a centenary dinner at the City Hall In Belfast on 08 April. An agreement was made that the signing of the Ulster Covenant, the Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme would all be commemorated with dinners.
