Four Teens Charged Over Burglaries In Co Down

Four teenagers have been charged in connection with a number of burglaries in Co Down.

The males, aged 16, 17, 18 and 19, were arrested in Banbridge on Tuesday, 03 May, following reports of suspicious activity and burglaries in the Dromore Road and Laurel Heights areas.

All of the suspects are to appear before Banbridge Magistrates Courts today, 05 May.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Man charged over serious assault
A 46-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear before Armagh Magistrates Court later today. The charge relates to a serious assault on a man in Banbridge on September 29. Police discovered the victim in the Newry Street area as they tried to keep rival factions apart.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Ballymena. As part of an investigation, the PSNI searched a house in Co Antrim after a number of commercial burglaries in the town centre over the past six months.

Man Charged Over Burglaries
A man, aged 31, has been charged with a number of burglaries and hijackings. The offences occurred in the south Armagh area on 20 December 2013. He was charged with attempted burglary, three counts of burglary, two counts of hijacking and criminal damage. He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court on 9 July.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.
