Blind pensioner robbed at home

Police are appealing for information after a blind pensioner was robbed at her Co Antrim home on Wednesday.

A man and woman are thought to have conned their way into the woman's home at Drumtara, Ballymena by initiating a conversation with her.

It is understood that the pair left around 10 minutes later with a substantial sum of money.

Police described the incident as "despicable".

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Pensioner attacked during burglary of her home
A 90-year-old woman was assaulted during a burglary of her home in Ballygowan, Co Down last night. The woman was confronted by a teenager after hearing noise in her kitchen. The youth then assaulted the elderly woman before escaping into an alley at the back of the house. Police believe an accomplice then joined the assailant.

Woman Dies In Garage Fire At Portadown Home
A woman has died after a fire in the garage of a house in Portadown, County Armagh. The fire at Oakleigh Park, off the Brownstown Road, was reported to police shortly after 07:20 GMT on Monday. Police and firefighters are still at the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire. The woman's name has not yet been released.

Pensioner Robbed In Own Home
Police in Lisburn are investigating the robbery of an elderly woman in her own home last night. The incident happened at around 10pm in the Wesley Street area of the city. The 89-year-old pensioner was in her living room watching television when four men burst into the room.
