Police Vehicle Damaged In Overnight Attack

A police landrover has been damaged during an overnight attack in west Belfast.

The incident happened at around 1am on Monday.

Police carried out searches in the area on Sunday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "Nothing was found during the searches of the area however police enquiries into exactly what kind of object hit the landrover this morning will continue.

"We are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone who may be able to assist the police investigation in anyway. The number to call is 101."

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two Vehicles And Firearms Stolen In Co Tyrone
Two vehicles and firearms have been stolen in Ballygawley, Co Tyrone. The incident happened between Thursday night and Friday morning. Police believe the thugs entered a property on the Whitebridge Road and stole the keys of two vehicles, a Green Landrover Defender 90 and Silver Audi Q3, while the occupants were asleep upstairs.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of L'Derry Man
Police have arrested a man in relation to the murder of James McConnell In L'Derry in 2009. Mr McConnell, 38, was killed after he was shot at his house in Woodland Avenue by two men. The man, 48, was arrested in Dungiven and is being detained at Antrim police station. The police are also carrying out two searches in Dungiven.

Officers hurt in road collision
Police are appealing for information after a police landrover was struck by a stolen jeep in Dunmurry on Sunday. Three police officers were injured in the collision which occurred on the Bell Steele Road at around 2.15pm.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
