UK Digital Marketing Firm Creates Jobs In Co Donegal
Digital Marketing firm, SLM Connect, is to create 125 new jobs with its expansion into Na Doirí Beaga, Co. Donegal.
The Manchester-based company is to establish a new business at Páirc Ghnó Ghaoth Dobhair.
Welcoming the news, Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh, said that SLM's investment will have a huge economic impact on the Donegal Gaeltacht.
"This decision by SLM to establish a new business in Gaoth Dobhair is an expression of confidence in the area and local workers. I commend Údarás na Gaeltachta for enticing this investment to the Donegal Gaeltacht. This is evidence of the way in which the west of Ireland, and particularly the Gaeltacht, can benefit from employment creation through foreign direct investment," Minister McHugh said.
"This announcement is very important to the Gaoth Dobhair area," Minister of State McHugh said, "as it sends a message that the area is open for business and that there are wonderful investment opportunities here for multinational companies thanks to our young, flexible and highly-trained workforce."

Further Jobs Boost For Donegal
There's more good news for Co Donegal this week with some 100 extra jobs announced in a local call centre. Forward Emphasis International Ltd, a business outsourcing company, is to establish its second contact centre on the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park that will lead to the creation of 100 new jobs over the next three years.

Boots Expansion To Create Jobs
High-street pharmaceutical giant Boots is to open at least five new stores in Ireland this year, according to a newspaper report. The expansion will help create more than 150 jobs, says the Irish Independent. Building workers will also benefit as new shops are constructed and fitted out.

Purepipe To Create Six New Jobs
Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

265 New Jobs Announced In Athlone And Galway
A total of 265 new jobs have been announced for Athlone and Galway. In Athlone, DPD Ireland will create 200 new jobs over the next five years, with 70 of the vacancies expected to be filled before Christmas. The new jobs are part of a €13m investment, which will see the company double the size of its sorting facility.
