Woman remains critical following road crash

A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital today following a road traffic accident in Co Antrim yesterday.

The woman was a passenger in a car which collided with a lorry on the Knockmore Road in Lisburn shortly before 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The driver of the car, who was believed to be in his 70's, died from his injuries following the crash.

Both persons had to be cut free from the wreckage. The driver of the lorry sustained minor injuries.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

Investigation Launched Following Fatal Crash In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. The collision, between a bus and a car, happened in Randalstown at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 11 February. A 58-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Woman Arrested Following Crash In Co Down
A 50-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a crash in Co Down. A woman, in her 80s, was taken to hospital following the collision on the Scarva Road in Banbridge at around 11.30am on Saturday, 11 November. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
