Tributes Paid To 16-Year-Old Student John Irwin
Tributes have been paid to a 16-year-old student who died suddenly.
John Irwin, who attended the City of Armagh High School, died suddenly after collapsing at the school on Tuesday afternoon, the same day the funeral was being held for Lesley-Ann McCarraher, the 19-year-old killed in a hit-and-run collision over the weekend.
On its Facebook page the school posted: "We at City of Armagh High School mourn the sudden death of John Irwin, one of our year 12 pupils. John was a much loved and highly respected member of our school community who will be missed by all of us.
"We are deeply saddened by this great loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with John's family at this tragic time, we extend to them our sincerest sympathy and support."

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

Down High Prep To Close
The Preparatory Department of Down High School in Downpatrick is to close, following declining enrolment numbers. Education Minister John O'Dowd approved the proposal to close the department. Enrolments at Down High have declined in recent years with only 32 pupils currently enrolled in P1-P7, plus four pupils in the reception class.

Six Schools Secure Funding For Enhancement Projects
A total of £14 million has been secured to start construction on a further six schools in Northern Ireland. Education Minister John O'Dowd made the announcement as part of the School Enhancement Programme. Mr O'Dowd said: "Ongoing investment in our schools estate is essential if we are to continue to provide a quality education environment.

Beach Body Confirmed As Missing Belfast Man
A body found on a beach at Magilligan Point on Tuesday has been confirmed as that of missing 54-year-old John McIlwaine. A group of primary school children on a field trip discovered Mr McIlwaine's remains. He had been missing since 23 April.
