Elderly Couple Targeted In Distraction Burglary In Lisburn

An elderly couple have had their house ransacked during a distraction burglary in Lisburn, Co Down.

The incident happened in the Ballymacash Road area at around 2.30pm on Sunday.

An unknown man called at the couple's home and said he was conducting gardening work in the area and wanted to show the residents what he intended to do.

While the occupants were distracted in their back garden by the man an intruder entered the house and ransacked the bedrooms. A sum of cash and a cheque book were stolen during this incident.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Pensioner Attacked During Aggravated Burglary In Co Down
A pensioner has been injured after he was attacked during an aggravated burglary in Kilkeel, Co Down. The incident happened at a house in the Slieveshan Park area at around midnight on Tuesday, 28 March. The victim, who sustained facial and head injuries, was tied up and attacked by a gang of men before covering his head with a pillowcase.

Detectives in north Belfast are appealing for information after the home of an elderly couple was robbed early this morning. An intuder is believed to have entered through the rear of the house on the Deerpark Road at around 1.30am on Wednesday.

Police Search For Five Men Who Ransacked Home Of Elderly Couple
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a burglary at the home of an elderly couple in Coleraine on Wednesday, 29 August. At about 9.15pm five masked men forced their way into a house on Camus Lane. The male occupant of the house, aged in his 70s, was restrained and searched while the men ransacked the house.

Two men remanded in custody over burglary charges
Two men have appeared in court today charged with aggravated burglary. The men, Patrick Joseph Quinn, aged 17, from Whitecliff Parade, and Sean Paul Reid, 19, from Divismore Crescent, both Belfast, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court in connection with an incident at Norfolk Drive in the west of the city on Monday. Police appeal following burglary
Police are appealing for information following a burglary in south Belfast on Sunday. Money and jewellery were stolen from an elderly couple's home in Thalia Street while they were staying with friends. The couple returned later that day to discover the break-in.
