Security Alert In L'Derry Ends

A security alert in L'Derry has now ended.

A suspicious object was discovered in the Brigade Road area on Thursday afternoon.

Residents had to be evacuated from their homes and army bomb experts attended the scene.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the object, however nothing harmful was found.

Residents have since returned to their homes and all roads in the area have been re-opened.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police Station Alert Discovered To Be A Hoax
A security alert has ended after a suspicious object found in a car close to an east Belfast police station was declared an "elaborate hoax". Residents in the Woodstock Road area had to evacuate their homes at about 21:00 on Sunday evening, while nearby Church services were also interrupted.
