Suspected Arson Attack At North Belfast Apartment Block
Police have launched an investigation following a suspected arson attack at an apartment block in north Belfast.
Bins were set alight in the amenities area of the apartment block in the Edlingham Street area on Tuesday.
The NIFRS and police attended the scene and put the blaze out.
No-one was injured, however damage was caused to the ground floor of the building.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Wellie Park's Planning Appeal Rejected
Plans to redevelop south Belfast's Wellington Park Hotel have been rejected. The Mooney Group, which owns the hotel on the Malone Road, had proposed to demolish the existing building and build a larger hotel and an associated apartment block.

Two hoteliers are bucking the recessionary trend and pushing ahead with planned expansion projects. Both in Belfast and in the City of Lisburn, two separate hostelries are planning to develop their facilities. South Belfast's Wellington Park hotel has announced fresh plans for its redevelopment and extension.

The death of a construction worker in Belfast last year has led to the contractor being charged with several offences. As reported in 4ni.co.uk at the time, the death of the 52-year-old victim was the second such Irish construction site death in a single day.

An historic building in Belfast city centre has been saved from demolition by the Department for the Environment, it has emerged. The 'Frames' property, a distinctive triangular building at Little Donegall Street has been 'spot listed' by the Environment and Heritage Service.

'Small Bomb' Found During Security Alert
Army bomb experts have been called to examine an explosive device found at an apartment block in east Belfast. Police said that a number of residents were evacuated from the apartments in the Short Strand Road area at about 20:00 on Tuesday night. They described the device as a "small bomb". No further details have been released.
